23rd July 2010 - Tryst Walking Group "... our experience at your restaurant was second to none ... a lovely venue, and the staff were so kind. The food and presentation were excellent."
20th October 2009: "Just back home from a fine trip to your restaurant with a close friend, aged 90, who was brought up in St Andrews overlooking the 18th fairway. Everthing was perfect, traditional lentil soup & bread and butter washed down with my favourite Belhaven beer and my friend enjoyed his usual nip of Grouse. All the staff we met could not have been more helpful and we will be back with our friends to introduce them to this little gem of a place. I had pleasant memories of police golf days out after nightshifts at this very location in the 1950s but this is a far cry from bacon & eggs on a large table with the half loaf in the middle for all to tuck in."
Congratulations and well done. Ian (Retired Police Officer).
Golf Outings and Course Feedback January 2012: I played at Swanston New yesterday and I was most impressed by the buzz around the Club. There were adults and juniors on the Templar Course, the course was busy, the Clubhouse was busy and there was generally a really good feel around the Club. That was the first time I had played the new holes and they are very good. I thoroughly enjoy playing the course. Well done to you for all you have achieved and I hope all future developments and improvements continue to go well. Edinburgh Golfer 13 June 2011: I’ve been meaning to write to you reference our society outing on Sun the 24th April 2011. I can honestly say on behalf of all those who participated that it was a thoroughly enjoyable day. The course set up was fantastic and the food was excellent. Please give a big thank you to your staff and we shall be definitely using your venue in the future. Kind Regards Mark Longrigg CSgt, 6-Scots Regiment 11 June 2011: Many thanks for the great day we had at Swanston - both the catering and golf were supberb, and the day was enjoyed by all that played. I actually booked our outing at Swanston on the back of another outing there the previous year that I had really enjoyed. I will certainly consider returning to swanston for an outing in the future. Regards Alan Graham
Bar/Restaurant and Holiday Cottages: featured in travel section of Sunday Mail supplement “Sevendays” on 22nd Feb 2009: “The welcoming Swanston golf clubhouse sits in the middle of the rolling hills like a mansion from a fairy tale … it has a spacious restaurant and bar with a fantastic relaxed atmosphere …” “After a walk, we retreated to our cottage, one of six for rent in a pleasant courtyard. Inside the excellent facilities provide for your every need in a cosy and homely environment.”Just thought I would drop you a line to let you know that I recently had a situation where arrangements for a meeting were disrupted, forcing a re-think. I was in the West of Edinburgh and my colleagues were in the East of the city, after a quick call we decided to meet at Swanston ... where we used the WiFi to get into our works email system and we concluded a meeting over some coffee and hot rolls.
Meeting room: The experience was stress free in surrounding which both of my colleagues were very impressed by ... and which has made me think that a team meeting utilising your boardroom, and then the golf course, maybe a good way to spend the day!
I joined the club last year and think you and your staff deserve great credit for the effort you are putting in and facilities on offer. Thanks again, Dougie Brown
