the range of services on offer.

Driving Range
Our 350 yard driving range opened in July 2007. It has
target green from 75 to 280 yards, and two ponds (at 70
yards) to test yourself over.
During 2008 temporary
shelters will be erected, while planning permission is
sought for the following:
- 20 covered bays
- 2 tuition bays with
video analysis equipment
- Lighting
- Reception with hot &
cold drinks machines
- Toilets
- Storage
- Parking
Short-Game Practice Area (Opened in May 2008)
- 3 full-size USGA specification (ie: sand-based) greens
for putting & chipping
- Chipping & pitching
off grass and Huxley Premier all-weather-tee-turf (for
lessons & winter)
- Shots up to 50 yards
on to the full USGA spec target greens
- 2 practice bunkers
- Different putting
greens for lessons and pre-golf warm up
Golf Lessons (Member 10% discounts apply to all lessons,
except special offers)
Ian Wright (PGA qualified teaching professional), along with
his son Gareth (current Challenge Tour player and Assistant
PGA Teaching Professional), will be offering lessons
exclusively at the Swanston Golf Academy to
both Swanston members and non-members. To book please

The lessons are
structured as follows:
- Individual
Coaching
One to one lessons are available on a ½ or 1 hr basis and
are aimed at giving individual golfer the key areas to
target to improve their games on both a short term and
long term basis. If there are a number of target
areas to work on in your game you may find that a more in
depth course of lessons may help (see lesson packages).

- Short-Game Lessons
A ½ hr short game lesson will involve working on a
specific area of your short game that you feel needs more
than a 5 minute look over. Eg: Individual Putting,
Chipping & Pitching, or Bunker lessons are becoming
increasingly popular as more people realise the importance
of the Short-Game.

- 1 hr Video Analysis Lessons
Seeing is believing, and a look at your swing with the
help of the latest digital technology will give you a
clearer minds' eye picture of where in your swing or
set-up or set-up is in need of the most attention.
Analysis of Driving, Iron play & short-game gives you an
overall idea of the areas in your game to work on with
specific drills and exercises to make the necessary
adjustments to achieve a greater all round consistency.

- 9 Hole Playing Lesson
An ideal way for any level of golfer to improve their game
& shave shots off their scores. For beginners the
lesson will help you get an understanding of what all the
different clubs do and when to use them, as well as a bit
of guidance through the basic rules and etiquette of the
game. For club golfers the lesson focuses on
improving shot selection around the course, reading the
greens better, and general course management strategies.
For the lower handicapper, analysis of the pre-shot
routine, club selection and playing in the wind, along
with the mental approach and a sharper short game is the
focus.
So, whatever your level, a 1½ hr playing lesson will help
you not only understand your game, but improve it too.

- Group Coaching
A 1 hr Group Coaching session allows groups of up to 6
people to have a fun and informal look at both their full
swing and short-game through an hour of tips and advice
with a PGA Professional. All levels of golfer can be
catered for from starter to accomplished golfers in the
same group.
